Portland, Maine punks, Mouth Washington, prepare for the release of their new album, Remiss, expected in late June through Repeating Cloud. The album's concept intermingles the life and experiences of band members, brothers Max and Zach Hansen, with the story of murderer Constance Fischer who drowned two sets of three children of hers, first in 1954 and then again in 1966.
Constance is the first track unveiled off the coming album, a noisy punk rock ripper which sets the tone and raises the bar for an album that's equally interesting sonically and thematically.
Mouth Washington have been around since the early 2010s, with four albums already released, still, their raw punk energy and the band's consistently artful aesthetics seem to have a long way to go and much more to give.
