Fox Hollow is an incredible piece of experimental, new age-bent ambiance, and the latest example from A Walk In the Woods, the impending album by Nous Alpha.
Minimal in instrumentation and in essence, the new piece goes through various movements to conclusively amount to coherence and magnetism, bringing together the natural world and the filed of electronics uniformly.
"Fox Hollow is constructed to a very precise and minimal plan," Christopher Bono describes. "Ten 30 second sections of groove from our jam sessions in the woods are hard cut against each other, and each section is made by Bono and Jones alternately. It was a fast and intuitive process. A melodic second layer was then constructed working backwards from the end, where I played a prophet rig and Gareth played his modular rig. It's a process-based composition that exposes the sound of the forest and the beauty of the electronics impeccably."
The track is paired to an utterly mesmeric clip of beautiful graphics, created by Chilean visual artist Paola Olea, which captures the music's movement in an enchanting manner.
Nous Alpha, the collaborative project by Christopher Bono (Ghost Against Ghost, Bardo, Nous) and Gareth Jones (Spiritual Friendship, Grizzly Bear, Depeche Mode, WIRE), will release A Walk In the Woods on May 7th, 2021 though Our Silent Canvas.
