Last year alternative rockers, Bizou, made a strong impression with their very nice sophomore EP, stilllifeburning, and now return with new single, Tragic Lover, harbinger of their forthcoming debut full length of the same name.
The band is composed of current and former members of Light FM, The Smashing Pumpkins, Wax Idols and Glaare, and their sound is steadily based on the darker side of new wave, synthpop and dreampop, something that's once more indicated by their new track.
Tragic Lover comes with a very fine and stylish traditional pop affinity as its structure demonstrates. It also pulls off consummately a richer style of production without sounding weighed down from its lush textures, while drawing attention to the band's resemblances to nineties indie rock. The song was recorded and mixed at Cave Studio LA, and mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive).
The video which comes with the new single was directed by Thomas Nelson, Brandon Pierce and Bizou.
