With a sophisticated and straightforward tone which points to a myriad of tasteful influences, and shifts into a solid synthesis of styles, The DSM IV arise composed of guitarist J Ormesher, frontman Guy McKnight of The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster fame, and drummer Pav Cummins. The band have shared stages with The Sleaford Mods and The Libertines, and have earned acclaimed for their live presence since their formation in Liverpool in 2018.
After a few digital singles The DSM IV return with new track and video, SCUMBAG, a fantastic piece of post punk poetry and moodiness which deals with a hard and challenging subject to eventually come to be downright engaging on all fronts.
"SCUMBAG shines a light on the grim realities of sexual violence," they let us in on the song's aim. "It describes vividly, accounts & experiences drawn from everyday life. It doesn’t condemn human beings, it condemns the behaviour."
