A veteran figure in the world of indie pop, Matt Love is the founder and songwriter of the Sarah Records alumni, Even As We Speak. While his band has been having a strong resurgence during the last few years, Matt has also been working on new material coming out under his own name.
Little Ray Of Sunshine is the artist's new EP, a brief collection of songs which convey his indwelling aptitude toward memorable song structures and a general indie pop sensibility, elements that pair well with the sound and identity of his acclaimed aforementioned band, and compare with the naturalness of Belle And Sebastian, the tact of The Field Mice, and a ton from Sarah Records' estimable archives.
Matt Love doesn't bring forth any surprise here, as the twee and power pop qualities of his musicianship are once more brought together rather comfortably.
