La Bonte is the solo project of Garrett La Bonte, a musician who has previously cut his teeth playing in punk and hardcore bands in Southern California. This version of the artist's creativity has been around since 2015, and La Bonte is now releasing his debut album, Don't Let This Define Me, off which the title track is a terrific piece of contemporary sentimental Americana with strong folk rock and slowcore foundations.
Don't Let This Define Me comes from a place of beautiful esotericism, as La Bonte's poetry excels, converging with bright instrumentals, and perfect production by Colin Knight (Fury, Death Bells, Diztort).
The impending album includes a list of collaborators such as Eric Shevrin of Young Jesus/Ian Sweet, Brooke Dickson of The Regrettes and Janey Riech of Layman among others. The quirky visual which comes with the song was shot, edited, and directed by John Dowd.
