Dark post punk band, Child of Night, prepare for the release of their debut album, The Walls At Dawn. The Ohio-based act has been on a consistent run with a series of EP and single releases, and are now expected to be taking their industrial-inclined darkness to full length form. The airy first single and video, Unafraid, suggests something rather special.
The band's own, Niabi, comments on the new single: "The lyrics and vocal melody for Unafraid fell out of me, written all in one day. I will never betray the meaning of the song, but I will say this: The first line of the second verse was inspired by the admittance of a guilty pleasure, and I ran with the idea of safety for people that I care about, safety for myself. At the end of the song, the question is asked - 'is it worth it to fall' - and only you can answer that question. When you see us perform Unafraid live, you’ll undoubtedly know my [our] answer..."
The video for Unafraid was created by Joan Pope through the audio-visual project Temple Ov Saturn.
The Walls At Dawn arrives September 26th, 2021 through Play Alone Records (LP) and Wave Records (CD).
