From Minneapolis, MN, new dreampop/shoegaze band, Lumari, start things off on the right foot with an amiable take on the genre's standards through their debut single, Doors and Corners.
The new single is a glowing shoegaze pop piece, with memorable melodies and a nice symmetry between the guitar-laden, well-crafted instrumentals and the luring vocals of scene newcomer Kalli Anderson. The band's lineup is rounded out by twin brothers, Dave (drums) and Dan West (guitar, bass), who have earned a lot of experience performing together for a long while, and Robert Caple (guitar, bass).
Lumari's early material features the contribution of producer/engineer Eric Olsen (Brian Setzer, Rocket From the Crypt), and their first video finds them collaborating with Los Angeles director Jake Johnston (In Motive, Aurora View) and Jon Sortland (The Shins).
