Nothing have announced an accompanying release to their latest album, The Great Dismal, composed of two original songs, and a surprising pick for a cover, their take on the soul pop classic, La La Means I Love You by The Delfonics.
Amber Gambler is a fantastic wistful shoegazer, and a standout single which would have definitely worked great had it be included in the initial version The Great Dismal. The song comes with a very nice video created by Ben Rayner.
Domenicky Palermo comments on the new release, explaining its origin and connection to their last album: "The world disparity and surreal circumstances that occupied all corners of life while attempting to write and record this album were so overly animated that the songs couldn't help but be contaminate. Trimming away at the layers to negotiate with time felt akin to ripping out whole chapters out of a novel. The reasoning behind having this be physically released in the first place, and a big part we left the title track off was to make that eventual and necessary connection."
The Great Dismal B-Sides releases October 8th, 2021 through Relapse Records.
