Following the harder hard rock approach of their first single and video, The Wolfman, shock rockers, Wolfspeak keep their theatricality intact, and deliver another piece of horror-infused fun. The zombie-themed Freak of Nature sees the band taking a more industrial/groove metal path in the vein of White Zombie, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult and Primus.
"Freak of Nature is paying homage to the extraordinary people in the world," Wolfspeak state. "Ones that are faced with the challenges and benefits of their individuality as they grow into their potential."
Recorded and mixed by Billy Colledge, and mastered by Machine “The Producer” (Lamb of God, Fall Out Boy, We Came as Romans, Clutch, White Zombie), Freak of Nature constitutes evidence of Wolfspeak's sound evolution.
Released on a Friday the 13th, the new song is paired to a music video created by the band itself, starring Pete Carter. It chronicles the story of the living Freak of Nature, as it goes through a night on the town of Asbury Park, where he is coming up against the city's darkness.
