Electronica legends, Tangerine Dream, are active and creative more than fifty years after the inception of the band by Edgar Froese in Berlin in 1967. Following Froese's death in 2015, the group is currently composed of musical director Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane, Paul Frick and Ulrich Schnauss.
Probe 6-8, Tangerine Dream's upcoming EP is expected out on November 26th, 2021 on Kscope/Eastgate Music. The single edit of new track, Raum, finds the band as moody and expansive as ever, with a nocturnal mindset, and a sharp-edged sound which points out this act's invaluable contribution to contemporary electronica and nearby genres such as krautrock, new age and ambient music.
The track comes with a clip by Felix and Julian Moser which works as a warm tribute to Edgar Froese’s Super-8 videos, shot on a Canon Super-8 camera during late 2020 and early 2021, depicting the band's creative process at their Berlin studio and the surrounding neighborhood of Neukölln.
For their impending EP, the active members of Tangerine Dream produced and composed the music having complete access to Edgar Froese’s Cubase arrangements and Otari tape archive with recordings from 1977-2013.
