Nicholas Wood and Kat Day’s The KVB returns with a new track and the announcement of their impending album, Unity, produced and mixed by Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine, The Horrors), and expected out on November 26th, 2021 via Invada Records.
The new album began being written in Spain in early 2019, where the two found inspiration in the “half built luxury villas, still unfinished from the crash in 2008. There was something eerie and beautiful about the desolate landscapes and concrete in the sunshine.”
First single, Unité, and almost the album's title track, pulls inspiration from brutalism and Le Corbusier's Unité d'Habitation. It's a dance floor-ready synthpop paragon which pretty much bears all those characteristics of The KVB's exceptionality, including the shoegaze pop dazzle, the coldwave moodiness and a general sense of minimalism.
The video which comes with Unité is analogous to the track's theme, portraying an imposing building embellished with neon lights and screens of the band performing.
