London-based band, Archierophant, deliver an atmospheric kind of black metal blended with elements from doom and symphonic metal, Gregorian chants and heavy synths, resulting to something rather imposing, haunting and cinematic.
Legions Of Black Flame is the mood-setting opening number of the band's split EP together with British black metal trio Dusk Lurker, released via Blackwood Productions. The track is the first one to include every member of their new lineup, and it was initially scheduled to be part of Archierophant's recent EP, Birds Of Joy And Sorrow.
With nontheistic lyrical themes the band's sound leans more toward the traditional aspect of black metal, and at the same time it has the air of being quite cutting edge and downright nonconformist.
