New blood, bringers of extreme sludge metal heaviness, King Bastard, follow their very impressive first single, Psychosis (in a Vacuum), with new track Black Hole Viscera, part of their upcoming full length, It Came from the Void. The album was produced by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice), and it comes out on January 14th, 2022.
Continuing with the space exploration theme, the new piece is another massive cut which brings to mind the immensity of Electric Wizard and the expansiveness of Sleep, with King Bastard's own, inherent psychedelic properties amped up to the max, painting a pretty vivid picture by way of massive riffs and great instrumental force.
Thematically and musically It Came from the Void is already shaping up as one of the most interesting new works in heavy rock in a very long while, seemingly compliant with the genre's formality and at the same time fresh and revitalizing.
King Bastard are Mike Verni (guitar), Isabel Guido (synth, saxophone, vocals), Arthur Erb (bass) and Matt Ryan (drums, auxiliary percussion).
