Dreampop act Processions return with their first single in two years. Acquiesce was written over the course of a year, and is out on BirthDIY, the subsidiary label of Spirit Goth. It will be followed by a new EP on November 23rd, 2021.
The new track is a warm lo-fi number built on layers of real eighties FM synthesizers (DX7, EM101) with soft vocals, all of which produce a general sense of dreaminess and abstraction. Although it possesses those hazy dreampop characteristics which make it comparable to the project's previous offerings, Acquiesce gravitates toward a glimmer synthpop sound, bringing forth the psychedelic effect of Processions' art.
