Rising East Vancouver post punk band, Aversions, bring forth their post hardcore-based, acidic and lyrically tense take on the genre with their new single and video, Sharp Left Turns, a characteristic piece of the band's sharp sound and elaborate songwriting.
Sharp Left Turns finds Aversions' vocalist Sam Coll drawing inspiration from his travels in Southeast Asia before the days of the pandemic, and "the absurdities of communist regimes running off American dollars while casting an eye inward at the freaky solipsism required to ignore the implications on life back at home."
Through loud eruptions and milder passages, the song makes for an exciting listen, while the incredibly well made accompanying video directed by Derek Janzen comes to be a perfect visual addition to Aversions' evolving distinction.
