From New York, darkwave duo, GHOST COP, composed of Lucy Swope and Sean Dack, follow their 2020 album, END CREDITS, with a standalone new single, offering a darkly philosophical view on the existential suffering as a consequence of environmental change.
GHOST COP reflect on YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME: "Exploring themes of 'solastalgia' - the emotional distress that is produced by climate change irrevocably affecting one’s 'home' environment. But it has come to take on further resonances with the events of the past two years, as well as our own personal experiences of aging."
Musically, GHOST COP live on the more propulsive, EBM-bent side of dark synthpop and darkwave, harking back to the electrifying eighties. Accordingly, the visual accompaniment to YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME comes with a VHS stylization, and it was directed by the band.
