Citing influence from the Seventeen Seconds and Faith era of The Cure, as well as contemporary acts like Human Tetris and Soviet Soviet, new Los Angeles-based band, Deceits, come forth with a rather dark and intense post punk sound.
Failures brings to mind a lot from the genre's vanguard, and profiles a notable band ready to take off. Deceits describe the new single: "Our second single release Failures was written during a moment of extreme mental reflection during quarantine. While the overall emotions of the songs are negative, the line 'The bliss of failure' is a stark reminder that sometimes you just need to laugh at the face of negativity and sadness."
With only a couple of singles out, Deceits, have already established that they grasp post punk's essence and aesthetics, and that there is a good future ahead of them.
