Blume is the Edmonton, Canada-based psychedelic dreampop project helmed by Arthur Bennell which has been active and notably creative since 2015. Blume's sound is focused on the clever use of layers of reverb-drenched guitars, synthesizers, and samples, with the goal of generating a distinct sonic environment.
Repetition, the new five-song release by Blume, justifies its title by combining the repetitive nature of motorik beats with krautrock and early electronica dispositions to come across as a work darker than customary, but still in accordance with the artist's experimental flair.
The ten minute flow of Is You is a totally mesmerizing trip, and it comes with an obscure video of equally hallucinogenic fascination.
