City Dog are a garage punk three-piece from Brighton, UK, with a straightforward punk sound which emerges really raw and energetic through the band's early material. Up to this point, City Dog have made an incredible impression, with their live act garnering praise and them supporting great bands such as Buzzcocks.
The Tide is the band's second single, a fairly direct rocker with frank lyrics and a distinctive riff which sounds like it might have come from the late seventies, although City Dog cite inspiration from contemporary acts like Ty Segall, Drenge, Queens of the Stone Age and IDLES.
The band explain that the song is "about trying your hardest to help someone you love who wont help themselves, and having to step back."
