Psychedelic stoner rockers, Kamru, emerge based in Denver, Colorado. The band was formed around 2020, and for their heavy rock sound they cite inspiration from doom metal, sixties rock, proto metal and occultism.
Kosmic Attunement to the Malevolent Rites of the Universe is the duo's debut album which they describe as "a tribute to mourning, grief, mysticism, and strange ways."
The sweeping debut single, Hexxer, is a seven-and-a-half-minute dynamic number which sways between the monolithic weightiness of Sleep, the kaleidoscopic expansions of Colour Haze, and the cryptic doom rock of early Pentagram. The song offers an immersive and memorable listen thanks to its enveloping darkness and outstanding combination of heaviness and psychedelia, delivering something which seems both traditional-inclined and refreshing for the genre.
