With their new single, Iron Gates, Swedish band Orochen slows things down and focus on the larger picture, as the song draws from the Covid shutdown in 2020, during which people were confined in their houses and mental illness become more widespread. The track finds the band joined by Jonas Stålhammar (At the Gates, Lurking Fear, ex-Crippled Black Phoenix), and it's an emotive art rocker with great production by Orochen, and mixing and mastering by Magnus Lindberg.
Iron Gates emanates a powerful post-apocalyptic mood thanks to its blending of heavy rock and post rock features with traditional Americana. It's from the band's upcoming debut concept album Anthroposcenic, which was recently announced with the first single Teeth of Glass.
