Not to be confused with the Sacramento-based emo/post hardcore act of the same name, Belgian newcomers, EASE, combine post rock and shoegaze into a melancholic and atmospheric mixture which immediately comes across as a refined complexation of the genre's fore-end.
Old Joy, the band's first single, is a wonderful piece with a high level of excellence. A wonderful reverberating wall of guitars fits with blissful vocals and stable percussion to form an all around mesmeric composition.
"It's a song about dealing with drug addiction on how drugs give you a false sense of pleasure/joy," the band explain.
Old Joy is the harbinger of the upcoming debut EP by EASE, expected later in 2022.
