Dark folk/chamber prog duo Maer, composed of Marjana Semkina (Iamthemorning) and Anna Murphy (Cellar Darling, ex-Eluveitie), have unveiled their debut single, Sister, along with a fantastic, cinematic video.
Sister is the immersive and prominent first single from the new project, which features Ne Obliviscaris guitarist Benjamin Baret and Agent Fresco drummer Keli Gujónsson. The song, which is swathed in a dark atmosphere, is a distinctive composition of magnificent melodicism, expertly constructed instrumentals and exquisite vocals, and it strikes as a strong exhibition of the duo's refined musicianship, skill and style.
With brilliant cinematography, the song's accompanying clip was directed by Eggor Kree, and it's a work of art that can't go unremarked, especially when paired with such exemplary and noteworthy musical talent.
