Australian shoegaze quartet, Sylvia, originate from Melbourne. The band recently released their self-titled seven-song EP, which is made up primarily of short and straightforward songs, and was live-recorded in a storage container where the group practices.
Sylvia's music carries pretty somber qualities on the whole, and refers back to a lot of early shoegaze, while it also sounds like it was really splendidly recorded and produced. Standout track, Fold Imaginary, strikes an intriguing balance between the heavier side of the band's sound spectrum and a pretty sizeable sum of softness and emotionalism.
