Blue Sky / Grey Heaven is the latest full length from Oakland, California-based experimental dreampop band,The Acharis. The album was produced by the legendary John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, Swans, Wire), and it's the successor to their home-recorded debut, Lost in the Vortex, from 2017.
The band's new album is a difficult to categorize, yet entrancing endeavor, with tracks varying from delicate noise pop to buzzing shoegaze, as well as a plethora of avantgardistic and atmospheric sounds. Soft Inside, the third single which has derived from the full length, is a demonstration of the duo's softer, completely melodic and more fragile side.
Musical and life partners Shaun Wagner and Mila Puccini have used The Acharis as a creative outlet for a few years, after much time of being closely involved in the San Francisco Bay Area's music/art/freak scene. Forging their own path in a very creative way, the band have shared stages with Cindy Lee, La Luz, The Shivas, Le Corbeau, Dead Meadow, among others.
