Batboner, an experienced Norwegian band with a deathrock foundation and a pretty dark yet melodic and easy to take in sound, continues to deliver well-crafted singles which hit as a fine blend between mellowness and experimentation. The band also draws inspiration from post-hardcore and The Dillinger Escape Plan, which adds to the listener's intrigue.
Skretch, the band's new single, is meant to be pronounced with a clear ɛ sound, based an old Norwegian comedy skit mocking the TV show Idol. The song was written after Floyd, Batboner's vocalist, relocated to the Czech Republic as a leap in the dark. The artist felt that the move was required in order to rebound from his exhaustion, and at a time when he was utterly broken and in immense pain, the song began to materialize.
