Kathy Wright and Helen Skinner, formerly of cult LGBT London indie band Barry, are the real-life and musical partners who make up the core of post punk act Sassyhiya. The band recently released Live at Paper Dress Vintage, a live EP recorded at the Hackney venue's LGBTQ night Queer.
I had a thought (live) is a focus track on the EP, representing the band's special sound and creative approach, veering into post punk and indie pop territory, and resulting into something truly enticing. Sassyhiya have a direct sound which comes with a plentiful of quirkiness, DIY ways, a punk rock spirit and great musicianship, all in a natural and expressive manner.
As a full live band, Helen and Kathy are joined by Pablo Paganotto (of Punching Swans), on drums and Neiloy Mookherjee on guitar.
