Do No Harm are a London-based band consisting of husband and wife couple, Jess Mills and Finn Vine, and friend Owen Dyke. The group have released their debut EP Damascene via AWAL, following their preceding moody single and EP title track. The band have recently supported Beth Orton on her UK tour in October 2022.
Damascene, the start of a trilogy of EPs that the group will reveal over the months to come, was recorded with Ali Chant (Aldous Harding, Yard Act), and Seb Rochford (Polar Bear). On the track UK or Die, post punk great, Mark Stewart of The Pop Group, is prominently featured. This is the band's second collaboration with renowned photographer and videographer Steve Gullick (Kurt Cobain, The Wytches, The Mysterines), who's responsible for the video which comes with the song.
The intriguing, avant-garde-influenced post punk of UK or Die illustrates the band's broad songwriting spectrum and expertise.
On the EP, Do No Harm state: “The Damascene EP is the first part of a trilogy of EP’s from us that will come over the course of this year. It was pretty special to record our first offering with Ali Chant, Seb Roachford and Mark Stewart, whose work we are all big fans of. The 3 of us (Jess, Finn and Owen) have each had separate and extensive careers in music before now, so the creation of this EP is the first time we’ve collaborated. It came in the midst of a pivotal time in each of our lives, when getting back to the basics of singing and playing music together felt more vital than ever.”
