Powder Horns are an Asheville-based band who bring together punk, garage rock and noise rock sounds, alongside a discernible share of eighties-infused power pop. Powder Horns will release their sophomore album Dissolution on March 10th, 2023 via Dem Daisies. Unlovers, the album's energetic, hook-filled lead single, and its connected music video serve as an introduction.
The band's new album was recorded at Drop of Sun by the studio's own Adam McDaniel and Alex Farrar. The new album's creation was a satisfying experience for songwriter Brett J. Kent, who lyrically dealt with the suicide and death of close friends, the anxiety of alertness, and the lower reaches of his own childhood sexual trauma, and eventually found the revelations he considered necessary to discharge.
Kent explains: “If I am passionate about my vision from every angle. It will mean something. It will mean something to me. And perhaps it will mean something to others as well.”
Unlovers packs a durable garage rocking punch and possesses a great deal of tenacity, which is certainly substantiated by the heavy subjects it tackles.
