Stream And Destroy 01.27.23 // Weekly Roundup

Stream And Destroy is a weekly feature on D//E in which we round up tracks and releases we didn't cover canonically during the current week. It's complementary to our regular posts and publishes on Friday release day. Oddments from previous weeks may appear. The feature now comes with an accompanying playlist on Spotify.

The first album by Mudhoney since 2018's Digital Garbage is the upcoming Plastic Eternity. Almost Everything, the first single, according to Mark Arm was originally known as Gopal. He explains: "It had been sitting in the recording device at our practice space for years and we avoided erasing it because we always loved its swinging Escalator groove."

American Nightmare make a comeback with Dedicated to the Next World, their first ever 10" vinyl release and new EP. Heartworm Press is scheduled to release it on June 2nd, 2023. Self Check-Out is a fresh example of the band's new material, and the strong existentialism of their artistry.

Compact Trauma, the first album in five years by Ulrika Spacek, will be released on March 10th, 2023 by Tough Love. The Sheer Drop presents the band's expected musical complexities, going through shoegaze, psychedelic and krautrock passages, and sounds brilliant.

Jesus Piece appear to be building up to something strong and commanding. Their eagerly awaited second album, ...So Unknown, the follow-up to 2018's Only Self, is scheduled to be released on April 14th, 2023 via Century Media. The latest single, Gates Of Horn, is another fine specimen off it.

Nuovo Testamento, the Los Angeles/Bologna-based trio, release another eighties-infused track from their anticipated album Love Lines, proving their influence in the underground dance scene, and presenting their distinctively dark pop songcraft with a new wave/disco flair. The band will soon embark on tour with Molchat Doma.

Dark synthpop group Sextile from Los Angeles are back with a new single, an excitable and impressive track which is their first release on their own imprint, MASSIVE TUNE.
