Southern California's Lords of Dust offer a massive stoner rock sound with a metallic edge. Recently, they released their debut EP, Kickin Dust Up, from which the heavy desert rocker Mr. Stranger is a fascinating listen built around huge riffs, sturdy vocals and fantastic guitar work covered in fuzz.
The band's traditional songwriting approach leans into tuneful heavy metal with a seventies influence, while the Sabbath inspiration is very apparent in Kickin Dust Up, together with more contemporary Southern metal hues from acts like Alabama Thunderpussy and Corrosion of Conformity.
Lords of Dust have made a strong early impression on the heavy rock scene, and their prospects look quite promising after such a potent debut EP.
Lords of Dust will perform at Pub Rock Live in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 10th, 2023 with Bongzilla, MF Ruckus, Deathchant, and many other artists as part of Planet Mammoth Festival. The band has also performed on stage alongside Mothership, Fu Manchu, The Well, Brant Bjork, and Hippie Death Cult.
