Tomb of Minerva from Sacramento, California, released their debut album Dawnbringer mid-2022, and it came out to be a solid death metal record which strikes a fine balance between more technical parts of the band's sound, and melodic moments, while the extreme brutality is always present.
The band's lyricism is very strong and affective on the new album, drawing from deeper topics relating to psychology and philosophy. Decaying Sleep is about ongoing deceit and manipulation, and finds the band in completely vigorous mode.
Tomb of Minerva reveal: "This track is about perpetual deception and manipulation. It gives us a glimpse at the dark underbelly of humanity, and how we can be coerced into doing unspeakable acts of cruelty."
