Castle Rat: Dagger Dragger

Castle Rat are a medieval fantasy doom metal band from Brooklyn, New York, and they have just released Dagger Dragger, the second single from a string of upcoming releases. The track was recorded in a 150-year-old abandoned church at a secret location in Philadelphia, PA.

Castle Rat rely on their traditionalistic qualities to create something utterly new and hard-hitting, with a heavy rock and doom metal sound, and their occult themes and aesthetics at the forefront. The song comes with a very well made video, filmed and directed by Gabriel Duque.

The ‘Dagger Dragger’ — a renowned huntress of demons, beasts, and scoundrels — finds herself plagued by visions of a mysterious ‘Shadow Beast’ following a victorious battle the night before. Her latest trophy, the beloved henchman of a most powerful Sorceress, has left the huntress fatefully ensnared by a vengeful enchantment…

Davis M. Shubs (Grave Bathers) and Thomas Johnsen (Thantophobe) worked together to produce and engineer Dagger Dragger, the band's follow-up to Feed The Dream . Rafferty Jennings Swink (Evolfo) handled the mixing in Brooklyn, New York, and JJ Golden of Golden Mastering did the mastering in Ventura, California.
