NAVY is the third and last track of the debut EP, COULEURS, by fresh post hardcore band, Unsafe. The song was written in the French Alps during the winter lockdown of 2021.
NAVY reflects the frustration of the band's vocalist becoming defenseless against the illness and loss of his father. It describes how the disease gradually denied his father's humanity as well as how this rage led to the creation of tools for reason and survival.
The song has a strong emotional impact because of its weighty and delicate subject. The band efficiently applies the power of color to their own craft and makes great use of symbolism.
