KAARST, the fresh project by Sam Haven, has returned with a new two-song release on Crucible. Soft Skin / Rains is steeped into dark aesthetics, and comes across with a very melodic post punk approach, bringing together darkly crooning, expressive vocals with excellent instrumental work and strong production.
KAARST continues to convey a sense of melancholic songwriting, crafting sounds which resonate with a gripping blend of gothic, electronic, industrial and new wave influences. Drawing inspiration from the darkwave sounds of the eighties and nineties, KAARST converts these conventions into something both familiar and strikingly relevant.
