Norwegian lo-fi post punks, The Uptights, return with new track, Jasper, the first reveal off their upcoming full length, I Was Dreaming, scheduled to come out on October 27th, 2023, from the Oslo label Keepsecretrecords.
The upcoming album follows their 2021 release, It Is For Them That The Lights Twinkle, completing a trilogy characterized by the band's commendable commitment to amateurism and the use of mono mixes.
Jasper is a three-minute sonic journey into the genres with which the band is fairly comfortable to combine, bringing together a mix of of dark and discordant sounds, accentuating their gritty post punk vision. Highlighted by the inclusion of a free jazz saxophone and a grabbing mid-song abstraction, the new track paves the way for another notable full length by the Oslo-based band.
