The surprise release from the New York City duo Dead Waves is composed of two fresh tracks, Secret Violence and The Visitor Part 2. Brothers Nick and Teddy Panopoulos, both native to NYC, have consistently delivered their own unconventional take on noise rock under the Dead Waves moniker for the past decade.
Having previously worked alongside producers like Steve Albini and Martin Bisi, Dead Waves have progressively reduced the volume and stripped their sound down to its basics.
With their latest singles, they delve even further, formulating an atmosphere of intense emotion through sparse and quieter sounds. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Suicide and early Sonic Youth, the band's new material comes across thoroughly sentimental and subtle, yet, powerful.
