Gouge Away have made a highly anticipated return with the announcement of their third album, Deep Sage, scheduled for release on March 15th, 2024, through Deathwish Inc. The band has already unveiled the track Stuck In A Dream, accompanied by a music video directed by Caleb Gowett.
The creation of Deep Sage commenced in 2019, but the band's progress was halted by the pandemic. The band successfully completed the album in March 2023, with recording sessions with Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden East. The process involved analog methods, and the majority of the recording was executed in a live setting.
Vocalist, Christina Michelle comments: "Recording live and to tape creates an intense environment where we have no choice but to feed off each other’s energy. We have to get it right in one take and if anyone messes up we all have to start over, so no one wants to be that guy. It adds an element of risk and excitement. We don’t want to sound beautifully polished or perfect anyway. We want to sound like the five of us being human, and no one is better than Jack Shirley when it comes to capturing what it feels like in the room."
The band's previous single, Idealized, from last year will also be on the new album.
