Since 2013, unconventional New York City heavy rockers Couch Slut have been known for their intense blend of hardcore punk and heavy noise rock, characterized by edginess and hard hitting performances. Fronted by Megan Osztrosits, whose ferocious vocals and defiant lyrics stand out, the group is gearing up to release their fourth album, You Could Do It Tonight, on April 19th, 2024, through Brutal Panda Records.
Their new offering, Ode to Jimbo, combines powerful guitars with lyrics depicting scenes of excessive drunken revelry, drawing inspiration from Osztrosits' cherished joint in Brooklyn, Jimbo Slim’s.
"Ode to Jimbo marks a departure for us, serving as our first-ever love song, dedicated to the bar I frequent daily," Osztrosits explains.
Recorded in the gritty atmosphere of New York City with Ben Greenberg from Uniform (Drab Majesty, Portrayal of Guilt, Metz), and mastered by Matt Colton at London's Metropolis Studios (Blur, Nick Cave, Thom Yorke), the band's vicious style of noise rock has never sounded more compelling. Having three previous full lengths under their belt, Couch Slut's latest work promises to find the band at their their most visceral yet.
