Agent Blå deliver the third and final single off their upcoming third album, STAB!, arriving in its entirety on April 12th, 2024 through VÅRØ Records. A couple standout singles from the album have already been released, but it appears like the band saved the best for last, as the new song is a highly impressive and relatable number.
The Fascination of Self-Sabotage delves into dark and introspective themes, exploring the necessity of self-acceptance for survival and the debilitating effects of psychological exhaustion, which can immobilize and imprison. It reflects a longing to be removed from participation, to incinerate everything around oneself as a means of attaining inner peace in soul, body, and mind.
The band's influences from shoegaze, post punk, and indie psychedelia are evident in The Fascination of Self-Sabotage, which sounds authentic and impressive as a whole. The song features strong and expressive vocals, guitars which radiate a grinding intensity, and driving drum rhythms which push the music forward.
