Vancouver-based band, Girlfriends and Boyfriends, unveil their latest album, Lost in the Noise, marking a culmination of their path so far. The new work is a collection, which has been in the works for quite some time, features tracks which go as far back as 2009, showcasing the evolution of the band.
Girlfriends and Boyfriends produce a fascinating sound based on nuanced elements of new wave and post punk, as presented in the acclaimed previous album of theirs, Fallacy of Fairness, released in 2021. Lost in the Noise is a retrospective offering, including two brand new tracks, together with six previously unreleased earlier recordings.
Together with the title track, Lovers in a Dangerous Time is one of the new songs which arrives with a visually strong video directed by Wayne Moreheart. It is a reinterpretation of Bruce Cockburn's 1984 hit single, infusing it with a vibrant and dynamic new wave and post punk sensibility, breathing fresh life into the well known composition.
