Last Wars have just released their new album Escaper, with Reaction as the final single. The song is a rather fast paced synthpunk number which draws inspiration from acts like French Police and The Mall, featuring really intense and gritty guitar work reminiscent of beloved underground names such as Chrome and Wipers.
The track goes deep into themes of existential uncertainty, submerged emotions, and internal conflicts, hinting at a complex and potentially destructive mental situation. Its relentless pace reflects a resigned acceptance of a bleak perspective on life, all of which is powerfully conveyed by way of a surging synth-based punk sound which comes across both richly textured and deeply relatable.
