Gavin Friday: Ecce Homo

Gavin Friday, the luminary behind Virgin Prunes and responsible for a fantastic solo career as a songwriter, composer, actor, and visual artist, returns with Ecce Homo, his first new full length after 2011's Catholic. The album comes out on October 25th, 2024, via BMG, and is produced by Soft Cell’s Dave Ball and Michael Heffernan.

The new album contains themes of loss, sentimental visions, anthems for solidarity and questions of the powerful. Friday believes it is the most sincere work he has ever created.

In the months leading up to the album's release, Friday generated intrigue with enigmatic posts written in Ogham; a historic runic script from Ireland and the UK used between the 5th and 9th centuries. The album's first offering is its title track, which delivers a relentless sound, and an overall intense blend of vivid noise and aggressive rhythms, with Friday hurling Pontius Pilate's words back at those who rule.

Friday comments: “The track Ecce Homo is my own personal kick in the head and kiss on the cheek to a world gone very wrong.

Ecce Homo comes with a mysterious video which has been produced entirely in AI by studio284 / Petros Tryfon.
