Moondaddy began as a collection of quarantine bedroom recordings, and blossomed into a creative journey to West Texas for San Diego artist and multi-instrumentalist Cara Potiker. The project was born out of a desire to break free from the suffocating existential dread which gripped the world during the 2020 lockdown.
Conquer Me, the second single from the project's upcoming Lightwave Lightwave EP, feels unearthly and dreamlike, with delicate soundscapes woven into a fragile yet richly textured atmosphere. Expressive vocals float over soft guitar melodies which create an ethereal presence that lingers a while after the song fades.
"It is about all of the possibilities that can be co-occurring with our present reality, and wishing for one scenario to take dominance," Cara Potiker remarks.
