Spirits of Leo: The Zenith

Starflyer 59 is undoubtedly a seminal band from the nineties shoegaze era, often overshadowed by peers of theirs who have received much more appreciation over the years. Their self-titled debut album from 1994, also known as Silver, remains a monumental release, bringing forward heavier sounds with shoegaze's characteristic dreamy layers. To honor Starflyer 59's influence, à La Carte Records is releasing the tribute compilation, All My Friends Who Play Guitar: A Tribute to Starflyer 59, on November 7th, 2024.

The new release features contributions from modern shoegaze acts, including Spirits of Leo, who have shared their cover of the Starflyer 59 great, The Zenith. The new version of the track comes with a level of quality which is paralleled to the band's high standards, bridging shoegaze's past and present, reimagining it while remaining true to its emotional core. The Zenith by Spirits of Leo was recorded and mixed at Lux Perpetua in New York City.
