The newly formed French post punk band URGE has just debuted their first single and video, Desolated Auguries. URGE emerged as a collaboration between Adrien Broué and Simon Chaubard of Plebeian Grandstand and includes members from M83, Bruit, and Rallye, and is gearing up for the release of their inaugural album Here/after.
Desolated Auguries is a brooding post punk piece which embodies a generation’s defiance in the face of an uncertain future. The song comes with a lot of natural intensity and darkness at its core, reflecting on deep subjects like the allure of destruction and the passage of time.
The band’s existential post punk vision is evident in their first ever offering, showcasing their thoughtful approach and artistic extent.
