KAPUT: High Wire

Kaput is a fresh experimental art rock act which lifts inspiration from the unconventional aspects of post punk and noise rock. The duo is composed of producer and engineer Brian Fox (Electrical Audio) and musician Nadia Garofalo (Heavy Feelings, formerly of Ganser), and their collaboration began in early 2023, a while after Garofalo's exit from Ganser.

Nadia Garofalo comments on High Wire, the project's first offering: “I was thinking about a Kim Gordon quote when writing lyrics to this song ‘People pay money to see others believe in themselves.’ and then I thought about the tightrope walkers who walk without nets because it’s more entertaining that way.

As Kaput prepare to release their self-titled debut album, the duo is already exhibiting their deep creativity and sharp inspiration through early glimpses of their sound. High Wire stands out by delving into the darker sides of fandom and the pursuit of fame, questioning the boundaries of entertainment and what it unveils about its audience.

Lyrically incisive and instrumentally bold, the song combines the raw energy of post punk with the experimental edge of no wave. Poetic yet gritty, High Wire brings out Kaput as a band with an important message, and a new, distinctive voice in current underground post punk.
