Kerosene is the lead single from Luna Honey’s upcoming sixth studio album, Bound, set to come out on November 22nd, 2024. The new song exhibits the band’s characteristic sound, featuring primary songwriter Maura Pond on vocals and guitar, Benjamin Schurr on guitar, Levi Flack on bass, and Dan Angel guesting on drums.
Coming from Washington, DC’s vibrant DIY scene in 2017, Luna Honey has shared the stage with notable acts like Norman Westberg (Swans), Eric Hubel, Exploded View, Molly Nilsson, Abdu Ali, Martin Bisi, Buck Gooter, and hackedepicciotto (featuring members of Einstürzende Neubauten).
The band was founded by Maura Pond and Levi Flack, who started collaborating informally in Flack’s basement with the goal of creating a full album's worth of music. Seven years later, they are releasing their sixth full length.
Luna Honey continue to push the boundaries of genre with their dark avantgardistic style. The new full length promises to be an exploration of extremes, blending a variety of influences into a distinct sound. The album was recorded at Dan Angel’s In The Shadow of Boner Forever studio in Philadelphia, as well as in the home studios of various band members.
Maura Pond comments on Kerosene: "I had listened to a story of a dire betrayal by someone's friend, and was thinking about how we can have moments in our lives that feel like everything has burned to the ground, yet outwardly, so little has changed."
