Tours-based band Stuffed Foxes, continue to offer their signature blend of post psych and shoegaze, and gear up to release their third album, Standardized, on December 6th, 2024.
From the very beginning, the six-piece band has focused on creating music collectively, drawing inspiration from spontaneous collaboration. Their creative approach gives rise to their distinct sound, resulting in long, hypnotic tracks based on dense layers of swirling noise, and expressive vocals. Stuffed Foxes bring these elements together during their live performances as well, putting up cathartic shows which are best experienced firsthand.
Stuffed Foxes comment on their new single, Pretend to Be a Dog (Gamelle): "We started jamming this song during a residency in Orléans. The idea was to craft powerful, crashing sound waves interspersed with moments of calm and melody. These bursts were thrilling to play, and the main theme grew richer over time with the six of us contributing to the overall texture. This may be the track we are most proud of, with each of us expressing ourselves and fitting together. For the end of the song, Simon played a raw, noise-driven bassline, and we decided to push it to the forefront in an extreme way, weaving these clear guitar patterns around it."
Standardized will be released in collaboration with Bristol’s Stolen Body Records and two French labels, Reverse Tapes and Figures Libres.
